The door intercom system has at least one door station (2) and at least one home station (4) coupled via a 2-wire line (6), for transmission of control and/or communications signals and provision of a supply voltage. At least one of the door and home stations is modular and has at least 2 modules (M) communicating via an internal bus with at least 3 bus wires, having an earth line coupled to the earth line of the external 2-wire line and the earth line of the data line for communication between microcontrollers of the individual modules.
