The invention provides a mechanism for adjusting the opening between adjace nt sieve slats of a combine sieve. A wrist connector is connected to a conventional slat connection member. An electrically activated linear adjuster which includes a linearly moveable shaft is connected to the wrist connector to move the slat connecti on member fore and aft. The actuator is electrically controlled by way of an adjusting switch. The actuator provides an electrical signal output responsive to the linear position of the shaft, which signal output is directed to a meter which provides a visual indication of the opening between adjacent slats. The combine operator can therefore monitor and control the opening between adjacent slats of the sieve from a remote location, specifically the cab of the combine.
