<p>1,009,252. Hydraulic shock-absorbers. A. A. DE KONING, and K. K. K. DE KONING. April 3, 1963 [April 4, 1962], No. 13158/63. Heading F2S. A valve leading from one end of a pressure cylinder 1 of a telescopic shock absorber and which provides a smooth damping at low, and is also effective at high, speeds of a piston 2 comprises an annular housing 6, 6<SP>1</SP> with a seat 7 for a valve plate 9 and a superposed rigid plate 11 having one or more holes 10 and, on the underside, a second seat 12 for a valve plate 13, the plates 9, 11, 13 being maintained an their seats by a bolt 14 which is screwed into the plate 11 and is locked by a nut 15 and which has a small bore 16 leading from the space 17 between the plates 9, 13 to the reservoir 5. The bore 16 may have a valve opening in the direction of the reservoir 5. During an inward stroke of the piston fluid flows past the plate 9 into the space 17 from which it can escape through the bore 16 to the reservoir. After a sufficient build up of fluid pressure within the space 17 the valve plate opens to provide a parallel escape route to the reservoir 5.</p> |
