FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves calculating retinal index value as ratio between sum of a-wave and b-wave values on general electroretinogram and latent period time of these waves. The retinal index value belonging to an interval of 2.7-4.5 conditional units, ethanol intoxication consequences are considered to be the case. The value being equal to or less than 2.6 conditional units, retina injury caused by methyl alcohol is considered to be the case. The value being equal to or greater than 4.6 conditional units is interpreted as normal retinal electrogensis having nothing to do with toxic injury. ^ EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis.
