Disclosed is a method for sealing a throttle valve port, according to which a bottom part (1b) of a two-piece throttle valve (1) is fixed to a throttle valve shaft (3) in a first step, whereupon at least one elastic compensating element (4a, 4b) is placed upon the bottom part (1b) in a second step. A top part (1a) of the two- piece throttle valve (1) is then positioned on the at least one elastic compensating element (4a, 4b) and is fixed to the throttle valve shaft (3) in a third step. A medium is introduced between the bottom part (1b) and the top part (1a) and the at least one elastic compensating element (4a, 4b) by means of the bottom part (1b) or the top part (1a) in a fourth step, whereby the at least one elastic compensating element (4a, 4b) is pressed against the inner wall of the throttle valve port (2). In a fifth step, the at least one elastic compensating element (4a, 4b) which is pressed against the inner wall of the throttle valve port (2) is connected to the bottom part (1b) and the top part (1a) of the two-piece throttle valve (1).
