The clamp consists of a supporting bar (12) of an elastomer material with an exposed surface (12a) along which a positioning and locking member (M3) moves. The member comprises an adjusting handle (13) and a jaw (14) that grips a component being positioned for assembly. The handle is attached to a base (13a) that moves along the bar, and has a hinged extension with teeth that engage with a matching rack surface (12d) on the bar.
