The beam for construction of a wall by horizontal stacking of beams has two horizontal faces (2, 3), each including tenons (6, 7) and assembling grooves (8, 9). The tenons and grooves cooperate with those of an adjacent beam. The beam also has channels (12, 13) that are more deep than wide, and which extend from one of the horizontal faces. The channels have a depth greater than one-half the height of the beam, and they extend continuously or non-continuously, in the longitudinal direction, over at least a part of the length of the beam.
