The present invention relates to isolated nucleic acid molecules which encode a novel Penicillium chrysogenum protein, to vectors which contain such a nucleic acid molecule, to host cells which have been transformed with such a nucleic acid molecule or vector, and to a process for producing penicillin while using such transformed host cells.
