The instrument has a coupling assembly (30) that couples power delivered from a motor to a coupling zone (56) of a tool (50). A fixation tube (40) is positioned along a part of a rod (52) of the tool. The tube supports the rod part that is adjacent to a dissection zone (54) of the rod. The tube is movably coupled to a coupling assembly to form telescopic fixation assembly for fixing the tool at an angle with respect to the motor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a surgical system including a surgical dissection instrument (b) a process for assembling a surgical dissection instrument.
