A conveyer for workpieces 1 comprises a train of carriers 2, each of which is rendered magnetic by a pair of inserts 5 made of a magnetically soft ferrite material. Permanent or electrically energized, magnetic poles 6, 7 result in a flux circuit which is completed by the respective workpiece 1. When the inserts move out of the influence of the poles 6, 7, due to their low remanence, metallic dust &c. ceases to adhere. |
