An apparatus for generating a transmit signal from a multi-user signal comprises a cyclic shift element for cyclical shifting a multi-user signal to obtain the transmit signal, wherein the cyclic shift element is operative for cyclical shifting a set of values comprised by the multi-user signal by a predetermined number of values, wherein the predetermined number of values is determined by the number of user signals. The inventive user dependent cyclical shift allows a full exploitation of spatial diversity.
