METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A VOLUMINOUS SANDWICHED NON-WOVEN MATERIAL FROM AT LEAST TWO COVER NON-WOVEN MATERIALS AND AN INNER PULP LAYER AND MACHINE UNIT FOR THE SAME

The production of a sandwiched non-woven material from at least two cover non-woven material layers made from chemical fibres, or natural fibres and an inner intermediate layer of pulp fibres is known. After the superimposition of the non-woven material layers, the composite is placed in a hydrodynamic needling device where the connection and fixing of the layers occurs. According to the invention, a more voluminous and hence softer, non-woven end product of the above type may be produced, whereby the lower of the laid, formed and thus produced cover non-woven materials have the volume thereof increased before the application of the pulp layer. The above is achieved by means of a compression of the non-woven material having a given width or by calandering, by means of, for example, geared engaging rollers, or additional pre-water needling.
