<p>A resilient, three dimensional, fluid pervious polymeric web and an absorbent article with a breathable backsheet including the same are described. The resilient, three dimensional, fluid pervious polymeric web includes a first surface and a second surface generally parallel to and spaced apart from the first surface. The polymeric web also includes a plurality of fluid passageways comprising side walls extending between the first surface and the second surface to place the first surface and the second surface in fluid communication with one another. The polymeric web further includes an occluding material, which causes a mechanical change in the sidewalls of the fluid passageways upon contact with fluid rendering the first surface and the second surface to be in non-fluid communication with one another at the fluid passageways.</p> |
