<p>A closing and covering assembly (15) for metal cans (10); the assembly (15) comprises a closing member (16) having a central panel (18), a peripheral wall (20) ending with a crimping edge, and a concave circular stiffening rib (19) which joins the central panel (18) to the peripheral wall (20). A covering and protecting element (23) in the form of a disk of shapable material is conformed to the outer surface of the closing member (16), by press-fitting the covering element (23) against at least a portion of the outer surface of the closing member (16), to perform an assembly (15) for successive closure of a can (10).</p> |
