1,046,101. Gas scrubber. BADISCHE MASCHINENFABRIK SEBOLDWERK A.G. April 26, 1963 [April 30, 1962], No. 16511/63. Heading B1R. In a gas scrubber comprising one or more Venturi tubes extending from a gas inlet chamber 1<SP>1</SP> to a gas outlet chamber 1<SP>11</SP> liquid is drawn into the tube or tubes by gas passing therethrough via a channel or channels 9<SP>1</SP> which dips or dip below the level of the liquid in the base of the scrubber. Additional liquid may be introduced into the gas through a slot 5<SP>1</SP> as shown. In modifications the channel 9<SP>1</SP> may replaced by a tube and the additional liquid may also be supplied by a tube. In a further arrangement the channel 9<SP>1</SP> is arranged on the outlet side of the wall 2 separating the inlet and outlet gas chambers. Also the position of the plate 9 may be adjustable to vary the size of the channel 9<SP>1</SP>. In a further modification (Fig. 4 not shown) the Venturi tube is of annular shape and surrounds the lower end of a central vertical cylindrical gas outlet pipe.
