Process for treating items of clothing comprises impinging a dummy (2) with an air stream (5) from the inside to remove smells from the item of clothing and/or impinging the dummy with the air stream and adding materials to decompose, absorb and/or dissolve the smells from the item of clothing. An independent claim is also included for a device for treating the item of clothing.
