The vehicle air conditioning system (1) has a mixing zone (7) in a ventilation housing (2) after the fan blower (3), evaporator (4) and heater (5). A number of air flow channels (8-10) branch out from the mixing zone, with control flaps (11,12). At least one flap is structured preferably as a cylinder flap so that the swing path of its barrier surface (12") or wings (11a,11b) is in an air channel (8,9) or along the end of an air channel (9,10), without extending into the mixing zone.
