<p>The application relates to an object (30) having a plurality of elongate elements (10) embedded in a matrix (20). The matrix (20) is made from a glassy protein, preferably including serines. The elongate elements can be fibres such as polymers fibrous protein, glass fibres, carbon fibres, carbon nanotubes and montmorilonite clay particles. The glassy protein may be sericin derived from silkworm cocoons. The application also discloses a method of making the object (30) and a laminate (50) therefrom.</p> |
