The electrical machine has a stator and a rotor (20), whereby the rotor has an axial end surface (30 and/or 31) to which a fan (33) with several fan blades is attached. The fan extends over the outer 30 per cent of the radius (d0/2) of the rotor in the radial direction. Alternatively, the fan can extend over the outer 26 per cent of the radius of the rotor in the radial direction.
