Bus system having few control lines

The system has a bus (AIB), first and second bus controllers (IAIBC, EAIBC) associated with first and second bus interfaces, signaling lines, data and clock lines. Sending bus controllers generate a control word related to data to be sent and send the control word over the data bus or data line. A receiving bus controller receives the control word and forwards subsequently received data to suitable connected devices (IF0-IF15,APX-KERN) according to the contained control information. An independent claim is also included for a control method for operating a bus system.
