The lever (31) is spring-loaded so that the catch (34) is urged into the locking position to keep the loading arm secured to the tractor. A locking device (38-42) is provided for keeping the catch in the released position. Spring loading is increased as the support consoles (11, 21) on the tractor and loading arm are brought closer together. The console on the loading arm has a lever-operated catch and the console on the tractor has at least one stop (15) for engaging with the catch so that the two consoles can be connected together.
