An active energy ray sensitive resin composition, characterized in that it comprises a suspension composed of an aqueous solution of a water- soluble resin and, dispersed therein in the form of a fine powder, an acid generating agent being insoluble or springly soluble in water and generating an acid by the co-action with an active energy reactive insolubilizing agent which insolubilizes said water-soluble resin by the co-action with an acid. The active energy ray sensitive resin composition is capable of being developed with neutral water.
