The mounting device (15) comprises a die (16) containing a space (17) for the round membrane (5) and a holder device (23) for the membrane. The holder device extends coaxial to the die and can be moved up and down relative to it. The die and membrane extend into the space inside the die and this space has a cross-sectional area which is less than the membrane diameter so that when the holder device enters the die, the membrane becomes deformed and adopts a diameter which is less than the cross-sectional area of the undercut. The holder device is connected to a vacuum source and includes bores (24, 25) via which the membrane can be sucked against it.
