The gas cooker top has gas burners each with a flame monitoring sensor which shuts off a main valve in the main gas line if the flame of at the least the first burner is extinguished. The closing of the main valve is registered by an indicator (21). After the closing of the main valve the indicator additionally indicates the second gas burner provided that its adjustment element located in a gas line split off from the main gas line is in an open position. An independent claim is included for a method for the indicating of a first and a second gas burner on a gas cooker top.
