A dynamic link library (DLL) in a computing device comprises a first part and an extension part. The first part has selected entry point ordinals by which an application program may link to one or more first functions. The application program may also link to one or more further functions in the extension part. The one or more first functions may be provided as part of an operating system for the device and the extension part may be provided as a private function.
