The method involves detecting whether facilities of a film producing and packaging system (10) have suffered a failure, and manually restoring one of the facilities and manually discharging the film (F) by a length from one of the facilities if either one of the facilities have suffered a failure. The method further involves automatically discharging a length of the film which corresponds to a predetermined number of film lengths to be cut from the film, from one of the facilities which has been restored. An independent claim is also included for a film processing apparatus in a film producing and packaging system.
