The door handle has a socket (2) attached to the outside of the door panel (1) and a handgrip (3), used for operation of a closure catch (6) on the inside of the door, which cooperates with a catch plate (4) provided at the edge of the door opening. The handgrip is pivoted and rotated relative to the socket via a cam guide mechanism (7) and has a central spring-loaded coupling element (8) for the closure catch, which is provided with an emergency opening button (12) on the inside, for release independent of the external door handle.
