The invention relates to an electrical switching device comprising a first contact point (11) which can be shifted by an electromagnetic actuator into an open position in the event of a short circuit; a second contact point (19) which is mounted in series with the first contact point and is opened, and maintained in an open state, by a first thermal circuit breaker by means of a switch latch; and a parallel current path (15) which is arranged parallel to the first contact point (11), and in which a current-limiting resistance (16) is arranged. The current-limiting resistance (16) is embodied as a resistance body consisting of doped ceramic material having a temperature coefficient which is constant or negative. |
