METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING STAMPS ON MAIL

The method involves detecting graphical information in at least one selected area of the postal item, comparing the detected graphical information with stored representations of stamps and evaluating the results of the comparison. If the information does not correspond to any of the stored representations it is sent for further processing. Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for checking stamps on mail and a checking station for checking stamps on mail.
