A personal body treatment product is disclosed for application to a user's body for hygienic, cosmetic, therapeutic, wellness purposes. The product includes a salt/mineral mass having salts and/or mineral ingredients capable of dissolving or dislodging from the mass in water at different rates. A sheath in the form of a bag encloses the mass, the sheath being composed of a porous material enabling water to penetrate the sheath so as to dissolve and/or dislodge ingredients of the mass and to enable ingredients to pass through the sheath to contact the user's body. The sheath encloses the mass so that the surface of the mass is not exposed in a manner to directly contact the user's body in use. The salt/mineral is composed of natural salts/minerals in a naturally adherent mass which is mined or harvested and subsequently shaped into a bar with rounded edges or corners, the bar being of a size to be comfortably grasped and held by hand. The sheath is made of a micromesh material so that substantially insoluble particulates in the mass and/or sparingly or relatively slowly soluble ingredients in the mass cannot pass through the micromesh material in particulate form to cause discomfort if rubbed along the user's skin. There is also provided a method of personal body treatment by providing and using the product.
