<p>The present invention relates to a process and an installation for producing high purity esters of the fatty acids, used as solvents, plastifiers, additives for fuels, fuels for Diesel engines etc., they being non-toxic and biodegradable. According to the invention, the process for the transesterification of the natural raw or refined fats, simple or in admixture and with esters of the fatty acids as cosolvent; where the mixing, homogenizing and heating the reaction mass is performed by recycling in an exterior circuit through a special ejector, the alcohol excess being recovered by distillation from the transesterification reactor, the raw ester separation being carried out by decantation, the separated raw ester neutralization being performed by contacting, in counterstream, with acidified water in an extractor equipped with a special structured sheet metal filling, the neutralized ester high purification operation being performed by the subsequent recycling, in counterstream with clean water, in the same extractor. According to the invention, the installation consists of a reactor (1) for preparing the reactant, a transesterification reactor (2), a pump (3) for recycling the reaction mass through of a heat exchanger (4) and an ejector (5), a condenser (6) for the excess alcohol vapours, a raw ester decanting vessel (7), a pump for evacuating the aqueous phase and for recycling the organic phase through an extractor (9), a centrifuge (10) for separating the water and the solids from the purified esters.</p> |
