An internal combustion engine (ICE) can operate in different modes (70,72) of operation with different patterns (74,76,78,80,82) of types of injection. Each pattern is allocated to an operating cycle in the ICE. Multiple patterns of types of injection are allocated to one mode of operation. An independent claim is also included for a control device for output of injection pulse widths in an internal combustion engine. |
