摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible EL display device capable of displaying a desired character or figure on a screen. SOLUTION: A metal electrode group 12 of a back electrode layer 2 is divided into three groups 12A, 12B and 12C, which are respectively connected to corresponding signal-side drivers 21A, 21B and 21C to perform signal driving in synchronization with each other. A transparent electrode group 15 of a transparent electrode layer 5 is divided into three groups 15A, 15B and 15C, which are respectively connected to corresponding scanning-side drivers 31A, 31B and 31C to perform signal scanning in synchronization with each other. A through-hole contact 20 is embedded in a base film 1, so that it is possible to dispose the metal electrode group 17 on the backside of the base film 1. Therefore, no joint between screen areas exists in a display screen even if the metal electrode group 12 is divided into the groups 12A, 12B and 12C. The metal electrode group 12 and the transparent electrode group 15 are arranged to be orthogonal to each other to form an XY matrix structure.
