PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve combustion efficiency of an engine by supplying negative ion into a combustion chamber of the engine and to thereby increase engine output, improve fuel consumption and inhibit toxic substance contained in exhaust gas. SOLUTION: Portions for passage of air from an air intake of the gasoline or diesel engine to an engine body are processed with a catalyst generating a large quantity of negative ion by air flowage.
