PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sealing performance between a boot for a constant velocity joint which has a thick portion formed extending to the inner peripheral face of a large diameter side end portion and the outer peripheral face of the outer casing of a tripod joint. SOLUTION: The boot for the constant velocity joint comprises the large diameter side end portion 27 into which the outer casing 1 of the tripod joint is inserted, an small diameter side end portion into which a shaft portion connected to the tripod joint is inserted, and a bellows formed between the large diameter side end portion and the small diameter side end portion. The large diameter side end portion is fastened and fixed at its outer peripheral face side to the outer casing of the tripod joint via a band, and the large diameter side end portion has the thick portion formed extending to the inner peripheral face corresponding to an axial groove of the outer casing and a seal lip 47 protruded all over the inner peripheral face of the large diameter side end portion in the peripheral direction. The seal lip is provided right under a band fastened portion in such a manner that a protruded end portion 57 of the seal lip is located deviating from the center of the seal lip in one axial direction.
