The turbine has at least four stages. If the blades in the fourth stage are longer than 50 cm, centrifugal force has an adverse effect on their mechanical strength. This can be alleviated if the rotor blades (16) in the fourth row (V4) of the axial gas turbine are reduced in density by using a higher proportion of ceramic material an their manufacture.
