<p>The device is a submerged ultra filtration membrane having capillaries that are packed in porous, supporting sleeves, which restricts possible damaging movements. An advantage of this is that the membranes may be more tightly packed. The outer side of the device can be kept clean by air scour and the inner capillaries by backwash and/or chemical cleaning. The device can typically be used in applications like the membrane bioreactor for the production of clean water from waste streams or rivers.</p> |
