PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, apparatus and program, a printer, a printing instruction terminal and an image processing system in which an image quality is prevented from being deteriorated and binarizing processing can be performed at high speed. SOLUTION: In the image processing method with which a multi-gradation image is divided into two regions and the regions are composed after error diffusion processing is executed, before dividing the source image into the two regions, an error of each pixel on a dividing line is diffused over the two regions. Thus, since a processing result can be obtained approximately similarly to the case of continuously applying error diffusion processing to the entire source image, when the divided regions are composed after error diffusion processing, stripes or the like which deteriorate the image quality, do not occur in its joint portion, so that a high-quality image can be obtained.
