PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road curvature information detection device for accurately obtaining the curvature radius or curvature of a road. SOLUTION: A deviation d<SB>k</SB>between a present position and an actual node P<SB>k</SB>corresponding to the present position is obtained. A virtual node Q<SB>i</SB>shifted from an actual node P<SB>i</SB>in a future position by the deviation d<SB>k</SB>is obtained. Three virtual nodes Q<SB>i</SB>like this are obtained which correspond to three points of the actual node P<SB>i</SB>corresponding to the future position and actual nodes preceding and following this actual node P<SB>i</SB>in a direction of vehicle running. Selected nodes S<SB>i-1</SB>to S<SB>i+1</SB>at three points in total are determined from three points of the node P<SB>i</SB>corresponding to the future position and nodes P<SB>i-1</SB>and P<SB>i+1</SB>preceding and succeeding it in the direction of vehicle running and three points of virtual nodes Q<SB>i-1</SB>to Q<SB>i+1</SB>, by selecting actual nodes or virtual nodes, and a curvature radius is obtained in accordance with selection of three determined points.
