PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To immediately display an image having the large number of pixels. SOLUTION: The predetermined plurality of number of pixels are put into a pixel group and the number of various dots formed in the pixel group is determined, and then the data of the number of dots is converted to code data to be supplied to an image display device. The image display device decodes the received code data to obtain data indicative the number of dots, determines the pixel position for forming the various dots, and then displays the image. The conversion from the number of various dots to the code data is carried out by referencing a conversion table adequately selected according to the image data and the decoding of the code data is carried out by referencing a corresponding conversion table. As the conversion is carried out by referencing the adequate conversion table, the amount of the code data can be reduced more and the speed of the operation of conversion itself can be increased, so that it is possible to immediately display the image.
