METHOD OF DETERMINING AND APPLYING TRACK ZERO POSITION OF DISK DRIVE, AND DISK DRIVE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of determining track zero of a disk drive, and a disk drive using the same. SOLUTION: The method of determining track zero of a disk drive includes steps of: performing sequential seeking by predetermined track units in an outer peripheral direction from an initially set design track zero position to a predetermined critical track position; judging whether the normal performing of track following is carried out while performing the seeking; and determining an actual track zero position in a track moved by a predetermined amount from the initially set track zero position in an inner peripheral direction when the track following is not normally performed, and determining an actual track zero position in the design track zero position when the track following is normally performed.
