PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for determining whether or not BIOS back flush is enabled by a computer system for controlling a capability of performing back flush of BIOS when a new feature exists in an information processing system. SOLUTION: In the information processing system having one or more central processors which have main memories and operate, the current BIOS 180 which is operated by the central processor and has a build capability flag 202 and the current capability flag 204 is included in addition, when the current BIOS 180 is updated by replacement BIOS 280, a replacement build capability flag 282 of the replacement BIOS 280 is compared with the current boot capability flag 204 of the current BIOS to determine whether or not the replacement BIOS 280 can be used in place of the current BIOS 180.
