PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development apparatus in which carrier adhesion onto an image carrier is suppressed. SOLUTION: In the developing device which is formed with a magnetic brush on a developer carrier in order to visualize the latent image on the image carrier by a two-component developer and has a developing nip region between the developer carrier and the image carrier, the developer carrier comprises a nonmagnetic developing sleeve and a plurality of magnetic poles fixed and arranged within the developing sleeve and the magnetic attraction force Fr in the normal direction on the developing sleeve is Fr≥0.13 N near the outlet of the developing nip region.
