PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for heating metal foil as a pre-process of extrusion-lamination of the metal foil and a plastic sheet, etc., especially, for continuously heating the metal foil without generating crinkles on the metal foil even at a low speed. SOLUTION: In the heating method and the heating apparatus for metal foil, a metal foil conveying device and successively, a heat holding furnace, are disposed and plurality of air injecting rolls provided with a function for injecting the heat-compressed air from the roll surface in this heat holding furnace, are arranged, and while injecting the heat-compressed air from the air injecting rolls, the metal foil let out from the above metal foil conveying device is heated during passing through the heat holding furnace while following the surface outlines of the air injecting rolls.
