<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a range of a readable distance by using a simple and relatively small configuration. <P>SOLUTION: In a body case, a light reception sensor 2, a focusing lens 3, an illumination part and the like for reading a two-dimensional code Q recorded in a reading object are installed, and a focusing position adjustment mechanism 4 is installed between the focusing lens 3 and the light reception sensor 2. The focusing position adjustment mechanism 4 is composed by mounting first and second reflecting mirrors 9 and 10 for folding an optical path R of reflection light so as to fold it back twice in a Z-shaped form, and by mounting a displacement mechanism for adjustment of a reflection angle of the first reflecting mirror 9 and for adjustment of displacement in the arrows A and B and a reflection angle of the second reflecting mirror 10. The first and second reflecting mirrors 9 and 10 are selectively stopped in three states, and according to their states, the optical path length between the focusing lens 3 and the light reception sensor 2, and thereby the reading length is varied. A distance measurement means for measuring a distance to the reading object is set up, and the states of the first and second reflecting mirrors 9 and 10 are automatically changed according to the measurement result thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
