PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing a rotary electric machine in which a contact state of a brush and a commutator can be settled in a short time. SOLUTION: The process for manufacturing a DC motor having a brush 17 being urged against a commutator 12 by a compression coil spring 18 comprises a step for sliding the brush 17 on the surface of the commutator 12 while urging with a force stronger than the urging force of the compression coil spring 18 using a jig 21.
