PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcapsule type electrophoresis display panel wherein infiltration of moisture from a side surface is effectively intercepted and deterioration of characteristics of a microcapsule display layer due to infiltration of moisture into the microcapsule display layer can be effectively prevented and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The display panel is provided with a substrate, the microcapsule display layer disposed on the substrate, a transparent resin film stuck onto the microcapsule display layer and having a transparent electrode layer on the microcapsule display layer side, a transparent resin protective film stuck onto the transparent resin film, protruding to a side from the side surface of the transparent resin film and having a size larger than that of the transparent resin film so as to form a gap together with the substrate at the side surfaces of the transparent resin film and the microcapsule display layer and a water vapor intercepting resin layer with which the gap is filled up.
