PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply divide a divided type optical fiber ribbon into optional SUB-UNITs. SOLUTION: A first optical fiber ribbon 7 is made into a first SUB-UNIT as a dividing unit by coating a plurality of primary coated optical fibers 3, which are arranged in parallel, with a first layer batch coating resin 5. A plurality of the first SUB-UNITs is arranged in parallel, is made into a dividable manner and coated by a second layer batch coating resin 13 to constitute of a second SUB-UNIT. The divided type optical fiber ribbon is made by batch coating n kinds of SUB-UNIT units with batch coating resin having n layers, which are at least equal to or more than two layers, in a dividable manner. Let F(n/n-1) be the adhesive force between the batch coating resin of an n th layer and the batch coating resin of an (n-1) th layer. Then, the adhesive force between each layer of the batch coating resin is set so that the adhesive power of the outer layer side is lower than the adhesive power of the inner layer side. Therefore, when the optical fiber ribbon is stroked along the tape thickness direction, only the outer layer is easily peeled off and the optical fiber ribbon is divided into arbitrary SUB-UNITs by successively peeling off from the outermost layer.
