PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a main step structure for a vehicle capable of ensuring more comfortable and easy driving attitude in a vehicle provided with a foot placement surface near a rear side of a front wheel and at both sides of the vehicle. SOLUTION: In the main step, right main step 22R (R is subscript showing right and is below the same) comprises a bracket 36; a step support stay 37 for connecting the bracket 36 to a down tube; and a cover 39 made of resin mounted to an upper surface of the bracket 36. The cover 39 made of resin may be a soft resin plate. Left main step 22L (L is subscript showing left and is below the same) for placing a left leg is the same structure object as the right main step 22R. The left and right sides of the main step 22 are the shapes in axial symmetry relative to a center line of the step and the foot placement surface 38 is made to a trapezoid shape where a front part is wide and a rear part is narrow.
