PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering member capable of easily ensuring the supporting rigidity of a column bracket. SOLUTION: A member body 3 is constituted by joining an assist side pipe 2 formed of a small pipe with a corresponding end part of a driver side pipe 1 formed of a big pipe, stays 14 and 15 to be supported by a floor panel are mounted on the assist side pipe 2, column brackets 16-18 to hold a steering column are mounted across the assist side pipe 2 and the driver side pipe 1, a bracket supporting seat 19 is formed on an upper end of the stay 15, and the column bracket 16 is supported by the bracket supporting seat 19.
